Description: We sought an environment that offered simplicity and serenity and that was conducive to a healthy lifestyle. After several years of searching, we chose the town of Southwest Harbor along the rocky coast of Maine. The village of Southwest Harbor is located on Mount Desert Island and is often referred to as the quiet side of the island. Here you will find the flavor of old Maine. Southwest Harbor is an active fishing village, still today sustaining the charm of an earlier time.
The air is crisp and clean. It is a place where mountains come down to the sea and the natural wonders of Acadia National Park are just a few steps away. Here is a place to unwind, to relax and to contemplate. To complement this wholesome environment, for breakfast we offer natural and organic food with whole grain breads and fresh produce. After a day of hiking, biking, kayaking, or sailing, we'll be happy to arrange for a massage by a certified therapist.
Other Amenities: The Yellow Aster is furnished to create a warm and inviting environment. It is a colonial home built at the turn of the century. We have four rooms that are decorated to lend a sense of calm. Each room is distinct with inviting, comfortable furnishings and a private bath. If what you seek is a place to read or play the day away, our living room is stocked with books and games. On a chilly day, a place beside a crackling fire awaits you.
