Description: The Veranda Bed and Breakfast & Country Inn, located in Fort Davis, Texas, is a historic property that lies near the foot of Sleeping Lion Mountain. It opened in 1883 as the Lempert Hotel and has been continuously operated as some type of public accommodation since that time. This makes it the oldest Texas establishment of its kind west of the Pecos and one of the oldest in the state.
Other Amenities:
The building itself is much as it was over one hundred years ago. Its nearly two-foot-thick walls are built of adobe. The floors are mostly oak or pine planks. Beaded pine is used for wainscoting and most of the twelve-foot-high ceilings. The period furnishings are primarily from Europe and the US.
