Whether your interests lie in the quiet of a less traveled hike in Acadia National Park, listening to the loons as they soar over the lakes or the thrill of a whale watch adventure, we will see to it that your Maine Bed and Breakfast experience is one of generosity, elegance and comfort.
From your own private deck you may choose to do nothing but watch the boats in the harbor while taking in the sun and cool breeze off the water or a much needed nap on our porch hammock. Or you may opt for a hike through a lush pine scented forest in Acadia National Park to reach a summit offering rewarding views of Somes Sound, the only natural fjord on the east coast. With our proximity to the busy town of Bar Harbor, guests can enjoy a day of shopping and touristy attractions and come back to end their day on the less trampled Quietside of the island.
The architecture of this 1904 turn-of-the-century Queen Anne Victorian displays steeply pitched roofs, cedar shingle and Pebbledash exterior with sea stones hand embedded in stucco. Inside is a seamless blend of contemporary and traditional furnishings and fine art. Fabrics of coordinating colors and patterns give this inn a touch of designer showcase. Our guests enjoy many of the amenities of an upscale resort on a casual and comfortable, smaller scale, as well as the right mix of privacy and interaction with others that a finely tuned bed and breakfast inn can provide.
Other Amenities: The Kingsleigh Inn has eight guest rooms, private balconies, air conditioning and all with fresh flowers, ceiling fans, private baths, wine glasses, water glasses, alarm clocks and relaxing sound machines. Each room is tastefully decorated with its own distinct personality, charm and comfort. Beds are furnished with crisp, high thread count bed linens and thick, pillow-top mattresses. Bathrooms all have soft towels, an assortment of bath amenities, water glasses, fluffy, soft robes, slippers, hair dryer and aromatherapy neck wraps for relaxation.
A large telescope on a tripod will satisfy any stargazing or boat watching desires. A living room with a sleep sofa, television, VCR, DVD player, a large private bathroom with a combination tub/shower and a separate bedroom with hardwood floors, area rugs, A/C, a four poster hand carved plantation king sized bed and working fireplace make this a superb hideaway.
