Description: The Revolutionary War was barely over when David Kenniston built this gracious white-clapboard home on a hill near Boothbay Harbor. Today, we invite you to step back to those days when the country was young and hospitality was an art. Boothbay Harbor region is full of places to stay. Few, however, offer the peace and quiet of the Kenniston Hill Inn coupled with ease of access to the bustle when you're ready for it. Set back from Route 27, this white center chimney Georgian Colonial home with column porch is an oasis for travelers. Yet Boothbay Harbor and all its attractions is only a short ride away.With five of the ten bedrooms offering working fireplaces, the handsome country decor and four poster poster beds add to the romantic atmosphere. All ten rooms have private baths. Each of the rooms have there own unique character and charm. Several of them have their own outside entrances. Early coffee is served at 7 a.m. with breakfast following between 8:00 and 9:00. Specialties of the house include peaches and cream French toast, blueberry or zucchini and walnut pancakes, Gerry's sausage crepes with scrambled eggs, or delicious hash brown potato or tomato basil pie's. There are just-baked muffins, blueberry buckle, sausage, bacon or ham. The meal also consists of orange, apple or cranapple juice and a fresh fruit cup or broiled grapefruit. Guest's may choose to enjoy breakfast in the dining room, on the porch, or out on the garden patio. In the afternoon you may relax in the gardens or on the front porch and enjoy a cool drink and some delicious homemade sweets
Other Amenities: The Boothbay Country Club borders our property and makes for a perfect afternoon's recreation. The 18 hole, beautifully landscaped course is rated as one of the most enjoyable in New England. |
