Description: The John Orr Guest House is located in the town of Mercer, just a short walk from the County Courthouse at the center of town. Located sixty miles North of Pittsburgh, Mercer is a quaint 200-year- old Victorian town with a town square, shops and beautiful old homes. Within minutes of Mercer are fine dining, shopping and recreation.
Relax in the comfort and charm of the Guest House, built in 1905 and the residence of John and Sarah Orr until the 1950's. The house features beautifully restored quarter-sawn oak woodwork and gas fireplaces throughout the house.
Other Amenities: Guests facilities include the front porch with an Amish-made glider, rockers and wicker chairs, a large living room that welcomes conversation, a den with leather furniture and cable television. On the second floor are three guest rooms, each with private baths and a sitting room with a gas fireplace, an extra double bed and cable television. The house is air conditioned and is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is permitted on the porch.
A full breakfast is served in the dining room -- wholesome and nutritious but with a little bit of decadence -- always the freshest available, always home baked. Tea, coffee or cold drinks and a full cookie jar will greet you on your arrival. |
