Description: The Inn at Isle au Haut provides rooms and meals on a Maine island six miles out to sea from Stonington, Maine. Innkeeper Diana Santospago greets you at the mailboat and settles you into your cozy room. Enjoy the simplicity and quiet, with elegant meals provided for you: homebaked breads and desserts, carefully chosen fresh ingredients, and delicious cooking. Located on the quiet eastern shore, the Inn is near the Acadia National Park entrance and the town landing, with commanding views of Acadia National Parks Cadillac Mountain and the surrounding islands. Relax on the front porch by the oceans edge, contemplating a bygone era of peg-legged sea captains and sailing ships while watching local lobstermen haul their pots. Acadia National Park offers 18 miles of hiking trails. Spend a leisurely day biking to Long Pond, the island's freshwater pond, for a dip. Enjoy a picnic at Thunder Gulch, or settle in with a good book by the shore. After a day of adventuring or relaxing, join us on the porch for appetizers, followed by a sumptuous dinner in the Ward Room.
