Description: Selected by Lancaster Newspapers, Inc., for the 2004 Readers Choice Award as Favorite Bed and Breakfast, this 1850 brick Victorian/Colonial house is located in the center of the town's historical district within walking distance to all the local attractions and fine dining. The Alden House was professionally restored with all modern amenities while retaining all its original charm. The town of Lititz, located in Lancaster County in the midst of Amish country, was founded in 1754 and is rich in historical attractions. Many of the 18th century buildings are basically the same as the day they were built. The streets and town are reminiscent of hometowns of yesteryear. The restaurants in the area run from very fine dining to smorgasbord and family style. A special dinner with an Amish family can be arranged, but takes a little time since the Amish don't have telephones in their homes! We can make reservations and recommendations for you. The more advance notice, the better the choices.
Other Amenities: The inn consists of two intimate rooms and three spacious suites. All are beautifully decorated and feature updated amenities for the comfort and convenience of our guests. In the morning there is a choice of a gourmet breakfast served in our dining room or outside on one of the porches. Start your day with fresh fruit and a full breakfast, which might include waffles, omelets, quiche, or cinnamon chip pancakes served with locally cured meats. |
