Description: At an elevation of 3200 feet, the Ten Bits Ranch contains 125 acres of Chihuahuan desert wilderness. The Ranch property includes rugged, desert badlands as well as our local Garden of the Gods which mirrors its more famous Colorado cousin. Views in all directions are gorgeous and our remote location makes us the perfect place to kick back and relax. We regard the Ranch as a haven for wildlife, a place for imagination and a hub for adventure. Plus, Big Bend National Park is only 20 minutes away! The Ten Bits Ranch supports the Friends of Big Bend National Park, The Big Bend Natural History Association, the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology, and the Texas Adopt-a-Highway program.
We're Green! The Ten Bits Ranch runs completely on solar power. Abundant sunshine makes the Big Bend of Texas a great place to use photovoltaics and promote renewable energy. Our Outback PowerŪ system is state-of the art and we offer almost all of the conveniences you would expect without the need for unsightly power poles or having to deal with unexpected outages. During your stay, we think you'll come to appreciate how simple and beneficial it is to use solar energy.

"All four guest rooms have plenty of space, a private bath, spacious covered porch and gas log fireplace. Air Conditioning is not available. Coming this May 2006, Air Coolers will be available in two of our rooms, the Bank and the General Store. Smoking is not permitted in any Ten Bits Ranch facility. We do not accept pets.
Guest telephone service is only available via the house phone located in our cantina. Local calls are not charged however long distance calls require guests to have access to a phone calling card or major credit card. TV service is not available at the ranch, however wireless internet access is available for those with a laptop computer. Our guest rooms do not have hair dryers, refrigerators, coffee makers, phones, or TVs in them. A Guest Refrigerators is provided in our main Kitchen/Cantina.
Please understand that we are an off-the-grid facility. Daily laundry and maid service results in an excessive use of our available resources. "
