Description: As you enter Shorecrest, built on a crest of the Long Island Sound, you sense the history that surrounds this seaside mansion built in 1897 as a very modern beach house, in the American four square style. It was renovated in 1920 by Dr. Valentine Ruch, who sold small plots of land on the bluff of the Archamomogue lnlet located behind us, to his friends and colleagues from Engle Wood Cliffs, New Jersey, establishing the Archamomoque Colony as it is known today. Shorecrest has welcomed travelers as a bed and breakfast since 1991. All important systems have been updated to include most modern amenities. These waters are still rich in fish, clams, crabs, and oysters. Bird lovers will enjoy our Osprey, Cormorant, Egrets, Great Blue Herons, Belted King Fisher, and many ducks like Buffleheads, Mallards, Old Squaw ducks, and Mergansers as well as Loons, Canada Geese and Swans.
