Description: The history of the Red Corral Ranch dates back to 1934 when the original ranch house, now known as the Limestone Lodge, was built of the native stone taken from the land. The ranch was purchased by the Reeves family in 1969. The owners and their three sons have enjoyed years of weekend and vacation time at the ranch, while residing in Austin.In 1993, the ranch began its evolution from family vacation home to the country elegant Retreat Center and Bed & Breakfast that now exists, when it was chosen as the working research site for the PlanIt Texas Project. The goal of PlanIt Texas was to demonstrate that it is possible to have an economically successful ranching operation compatible with the Endangered Species Act. See more about this important project under the PlanIt Texas sub-section.After the successful completion of PlanIt Texas, Colleen Reeves became inspired to broaden the use and purpose of the ranch by expanding the facilities and opening the land to the public as a Retreat Center and Bed & Breakfast respite in the country. These services exist for spiritual and corporate retreats and guests whose experience is enhanced by a holistic environment, professional staff, and amenities that enrich the guest’s stay at the ranch.The ranch serves family and friend’s reunions and celebrations. It also serves groups and organizations desiring an accessible, serene offsite setting in the beautiful Texas Hill Country for meetings, luncheons, dinners, and special events. Weddings, rehearsal dinners, and committment ceremonies are country elegant in the Ranch's beautiful Country Church Pavilion and are down-home Texas style in the Big Red Barn.
Other Amenities: * Each Guest House has a private, theraputic hot tub.* Our hot tubs hold up to about 8 people.* We have one dozen regular peacocks and two white peacocks that roam the Ranch.* The refreshing, aquifer-fed pool is heated by the sun and waiting for you. You're welcome to bring pool toys.* On-site massages can be arranged.
