Description: "{The Princess Anne Hotel has an enviable location in the Chestnut Hill National Historic District of Asheville North Carolina. The Inn is situated on a quiet residential street within walking distance to downtown and is just minutes by car to the Biltmore Estate Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah National Forest. The hotel was built by the father of Johnny Mercer (writer of the classic melody "Moon River") for Miss Anne OConnell a charismatic worker at a nearby tuberculosis clinic. The three story shingle style hotel was completed in January 1924. Over the years the hotel has been utilized as a hospital retirement home training facility and an apartment building. Today the owner and innkeeper Howard Stafford an award winning preservationist has lovingly restored this building. The hotel still retains its original ambiance and charm with modern amenities available to create a memorable stay.{"
