Description: This historic Bar Harbor bed and breakfast inn reflects the grace and beauty of the mid-Victorian time. Each room, named for a popular hotel of the era, has a fireplace and/or balcony and is uniquely styled with antique and period furnishings. The romantic atmosphere is said to be "like our favorite grandmothers house": friendly, welcoming, cheerful and interesting with its wealth of period wallpapers - designed to take you away from the sameness of many modern homes. The sense of times past blends with the needs of todays world - all possible modern amenities. ("All the things the Victorians would have had if they could"). The morning full-breakfast buffet gets rave reviews; guests can choose to eat family style in the formal dining room, on the terrace, the breakfast porch, or in their own room. Other Amenities: Included in the daily rate is a bounteous breakfast buffet served each morning from 8-10 A.M. Coffee is available as early as 6:30. Offerings include hot cereal, home made granola, waffles, eggs, home baked muffins, bagels, cheese, daily baked special entree or coffee cake, fruit salad, as well as juices, teas, and coffee. You may eat, family style, in the formal dining room where a staff member is available to help you with your day’s activities, or take a tray to one of the terraces, to your own balcony, or to the breakfast porch where there is a fire burning on cool mornings. Each afternoon there is a social time from 5-7 in the parlor by the fireplace. Wine, cheese, juice, crackers and other snacks are served while you check menus for your evening meal.
