Description: Come discover a cradle of American civilization, and civility, only ninety miles north of New York City. Here in the Hudson River Valley, home to presidents, scientists, and artists, and school to future generations' best and brightest, Millbrook Country House offers distinctive accommodations in an environment of fine antique furnishings and, just outside its doors, a luxurious landscape of horse farms and agricultural land studded with stone walls, hayfields, and old orchards. Rekindle the serenity of simpler times in the relaxing warmth of our home -- wake to views over the parklike lawns and gardens, come downstairs to a multicourse breakfast, linger by the fire in our comfortable parlors, and generally breathe in the blessings of a brand-new Millbrook day.
Other Amenities: Our new, custom-made (yes, Italian) mattresses are dressed with the finest Frette linens and duvets, and are so comfortable that they have been known to dominate breakfast conversation. In short, our beds are the centerpieces of all four of our individually decorated rooms. (In all but the twin-bedded room the beds are larger than a queen, smaller than a king.) Each room also has its own settee, chaise, or windowseat. Frette and Bellora robes and towels, liquid soaps from Provence (the scents are bergamot, linden, and verbena), magnifying mirrors, and wall-mounted hair dryers are practical aids to a pampering stay.
