View a map of the area around the B&B
Description: The first impression is that Longhorn Ranch House Bed and Breakfast is an historic Dallas-Fort Worth Bed and Breakfast, built before the turn of the century. However, the Innkeepers, Jerry & Nina Mangrum could not find such a place, so they built a new house with old-fashioned charm. The pine floors, five fireplaces, 10-foot ceilings and ornate hand-milled woodwork all speak of a time long past. Guests can relax in the swing under huge oak trees, soak in a large outdoor hot tub, or enjoy a restful sauna. One may choose to sit on the second floor veranda and enjoy early morning coffee while watching ducks circle over the 700-acre lake.
Texas accommodations include Antique or Outlet Mall shopping, only minutes away; or one may choose a book from the library and read on the back porch, listening to the waterfall. Those who are really adventuresome can try their luck at the catfish pond or take a walk along quiet country roads. On a stroll through the pasture, one may be greeted by friendly longhorns, who will eat from your hand. Whatever one chooses to do or not do, you will find the Alvarado Texas lodging accommodations of Longhorn Ranch House Bed and Breakfast, a peaceful respite from the hectic city.
