Description: Strategically located in the greater Waco Texas area near President Bush’s hometown Crawford and five minutes west of Waco, The Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast offers one of the best B&B experiences in Texas. The romantic 1894 Queen Anne Victorian inn, with its wrap around front porch and 7 bedrooms, forms the hub of a hospitality leader that has been operating longer than any other B&B facility. When you include the nearby 1920 Lyon House (with 6 bedrooms) and the Honeymoon Cottage, you have a total of 14 beautifully decorated guestrooms (not to mention parlors and dining rooms). And every guestroom has a private bath. The Lighthouse has enough rooms and amenities for almost any need—from the personal, quiet, relaxing getaway that is so beneficial for enriching a marriage or individual therapy, to the larger group retreat, planning meeting, seminar, scrapbooking or other event that desires to bring folks together in one desirable place. The Lighthouse is located in a small, suburban residential community that is away from most of the noise and traffic and busy-ness of the world, and yet near to numerous attractions that give opportunity for guests to be involved in lots of varying activities without having to travel a long distance. Their extensive website, with scores of pages and hundreds of pictures, hints at the hospitality you can expect, because on the internet you are able to learn about area attractions, events, vacation options, special packages and offers, directions, availability calendars, room descriptions, and much more.You can tour the facilities for free by appointment, or as a guest, and there is even an interactive Crawford Tour—offered at half-price to guests—which over a two hour span takes you to nearby Crawford, hometown of our nation’s president and first lady, and out by their 1580-acre ranch. Guests and others who have participated in this tour leave high marks for the special tour, which is in great demand, having been offered as many as three times a day during the busiest times.
