Description: Coquina Wharf Bed & Breakfast located on beautiful Riverside Drive in the Historic District of New Smyrna Beach. Enjoy watching the sail boats glide gracefully down the Intracoastal Waterway or catch a glimpse of the playful dolphins and serene manatees by the property's 128' dock. Take a short walk to the historic sites, antique shops and art galleries in downtown New Smyrna. Spend a day soaking in the sun, fishing off of the dock at Coquina Wharf, or swimming along the 24 miles of beach only a few minutes away. Fortified by a substantial home cooked breakfast every morning the many delights of the area are for you to enjoy.
The Innkeeper, Linda Gill Hayes, welcomes you to Coquina Wharf where her guests are treated like friends come to stay. She is a third generation Florida native born in the nearby town of Deland. Linda has furnished Coquina Wharf with antiques and family heirlooms, including several rugs designed and hooked by her grandmother. She is trained in floral design and can prepare special baskets of goodies for any event celebrated during your stay.
Built in 1903 with a Colonial Dutch flair, Coquina Wharf Bed & Breakfast welcomes you with Southern hospitality in a historic setting. It is located on the Intracoastal Waterway at the site of the Old Stone Wharf. The wharf was built in the 1700's and marked the end of the King's Road. This site was the scene of a Civil War engagement in 1862.
Other Amenities: As you enter the main house, past the traditional white rocking chairs and beautiful flowers on the porch you are welcomed by an inviting living room which is unusual in its L-shape curving around the original fireplace. The 17-foot sofa artfully frames an intimate seating area, ideal for cozy chats and refreshments.
The sun room, off the living room, faces out to the waterway with beautiful views. Numerous plants and the lace curtains give a sunny airy effect and invite you to cozy up with a book, a cold drink and maybe the house cat, Sable. There is a stereo with a large CD collection for the use of guests during their stay.
Breakfast is served in the sun room daily by the innkeeper. Homemade from family recipes you will start the day full and happy! Breakfast includes Florida orange juice, your choice of coffee or tea, fresh fruit and a hot entree. |
