Description: Inn on Randolph is the destination of choice - whether a frequent or first time visitor to the beautiful Napa Valley. Ideally located in Napa's rejuvenated downtown historic district, you're a short stroll or trolley ride from wonderful shops, restaurants, wine merchants, tasting bars, and attractions such as COPIA, Wine Train and Opera House. And, minutes away, an ever-expanding number of premier Napa Valley wineries. Opened in 1994 by a corporate refugee in search of a more relaxed lifestyle, the Inn on Randolph has expanded over time to include the main house and three cottages. The buildings were erected in l860 and the l930's, respectively, and owned by the same family for over 93 years. One of the more interesting residents was a midwife, who successfully delivered over 100 babies in one of the home's original parlors. The cottages were built to house extended family members and, although completely renovated and updated, retain a number of original architectural elements.
The inn began life as a designer showcase. As a result, it is filled with artistic touches, including a landscape mural that greets you upon entry and winds up the gently curving staircase. While the mural continues to welcome and delight guests, the decor has evolved over time. Faux finishes adorn nearly every wall, vintage and stylish new furnishings harmoniously co-exist and subtle accents abound. The look is both informal and sophisticated, all the while comfortable and relaxed.
Situated on a generous half-acre, the four buildings are surrounded by lawn and glorious gardens planted with perennials and evergreens, treating guests to a variety of textures and color throughout the year. Stone pathways meander and sitting areas dot the landscape.
Hospitality at the inn is informal and relaxed. In keeping with the owner's Southern heritage, every guest receives special attention that is personalized, yet unobtrusive and discreet.
